CADWorx and CAESAR II used on underground coal gasification project

Carbon energy
Underground Coal Gasification (UCG) is the process by which coal is gasified in situ to produce syngas, which is used in a variety of industrial processes including power generation, liquid fuel production, and chemical manufacture.

Carbon Energy is an emerging global energy company with expertise in unconventional syngas extraction. Australian engineering company Promech was recently engaged to complete the full plant design and project management of Carbon Energy’s first commercial UCG project, the Haoqin Coal Field in Inner Mongolia.

CADWorx and CAESAR II were selected to help deliver the job. The project was a fairly unique one and presented some interesting challenges.
