As technology has made more rigorous analysis easier for Structural Engineers to accomplish, design codes have been updated to leverage this benefit – often replacing a very conservative simplified approach with a more refined approach that emulates observed behavior.   With new design codes comes the implementation of new analysis requirements based on this better analysis modeling the true behavior of the structure.

Come join us as John Krpan MSCE, PE and President of the Odan/Detech Group discusses a topic of interest to structural engineers north and south of the 49th parallel – The Direct Analysis (or Direct Design) Method.

He will cover the concept and implementation of the Method, highlighting how to easily meet this analysis requirement in GT STRUDL.  We’ll also talk about the recent implementation of the CSA S16-2014 code in GT STRUDL and what this means for Structural Engineers working on Canadian projects.

Also, learn about the HxGN LOCAL CAUx North America tour, where you can attend four GT STRUDL classes with professional development hours available for each class.
