Common mistakes and oversights in pipe stress analysis
While today’s easy-to-use pipe stress software enables engineers to accomplish great feats with remarkable efficiency, it also provides the opportunity for well-intentioned engineers to generate results that lack the intended accuracy. Inaccuracy is OK if you know it’s there and you know what it implies. It’s a different matter when you think your answers are accurate, but they are not.
There are several common sources of unexpected inaccuracies. In this webinar, CAESAR II expert and CodeCAD president Jim Wilcox will alert you to common cases where pipe stress software generates results that an engineer might think are accurate, when they are not. Wilcox will use CAESAR II and FEATools to demonstrate how to improve some of these model accuracy issues.
