When designing vessel legs, there are several important considerations that must be made.
Normally, large vertical vessels are supported on skirts, which provide a very stable support, but it might not be practical to use that type of support for small vessels. A cheaper solution is to support the vessel on legs made from standard off-the-shelf rolled sections.
Vertical vessels are normally supported on skirts. However when legs are used, the legs can be more fragile. Special measures must be considered to avoid structural failure such as buckling.
Join us in this webinar as our experts explore how a safe analysis can be achieved when designing vessel legs.
